Oh yes. They are definitely friendly, enjoy being out and handled, and they do seem to recognize, trust, and connect with their keepers. I've been working with reptiles for thirteen years, and I've honestly never met a more intelligent, interactive species of (relatively) small lizard. I would highly recommend them; they are an absolute joy to own. If it helps any; the Northerns seem to be the friendliest of the bunch. :)

Here are a couple care sheets on them:

I hope this helps, and if you have any further questions at all on the subject; please feel free to message me and I will be more than happy to assist you. :)

Good luck!
