Can I keep african dwarf frogs in a betta sorority tank?

Written by scottology on August 19, 2010 – 10:38 pm -

I am going to start a sorority tank today or tomorrow and was wondering if you can keep african dwarf frogs with female bettas. Will the bettas show aggression towards the frogs? Please let me know what other type of small animal I can keep with the bettas, but NO snails, I once got a snail accidentally on a plant and there were soon hundreds of snails in the tank.
Also, do African dwarf frogs need to be in groups?

What is the breeding weather for fire bellied toads?

Written by scottology on August 19, 2010 – 5:53 pm -

What is the breeding weather for fire bellied toads. Is it hot and rainy, cold and wet, hot and dry. I am trying to breed my amphibians and I heard that they have special weather conditions like if they breed in the summer spring what is the weather like.

What are all the live foods I can feed to my fire belly newts?

Written by scottology on August 18, 2010 – 1:02 am -

One of my 2 fire belly newts is very picky. He will only eat earthworms once in a while. Just don’t tell me to feed him fish. One weird thing about him is that he spends almost all his time underwater.

Tree Frog Care Video

Written by scottology on August 14, 2010 – 9:44 pm -

Hey Everyone this is my tree frog care video. to spray my tank i just use a spray bottle i bought at a 2 buck shop. nothing fancy. i feed my frogs mostly mealworms and crickets. and the occasional huge moth we get outside. my tank includes 2 logs, 1 water dish, frog safe green carpet, pebbles, 1 plant (unsure of the name sorry!) 2 fake stick on plants, 1 waterfall feature 1 heatpad and 1 full spectom compact max pack 5.0 light. everything i get is with the bran Exoterrior. i try to keep one open buket of water outside at all times. so my water supply dosent end. frogs are fantatic pets and should never be mistreated!

Written by scottology on August 8, 2010 – 10:47 pm -

Typhlonectes sp.. sometimes imported as “rubber eels” from South America… Wild caught adults and some F1 juveniles doing what they always do when they smell food (their eyesight really isn’t that great, but they got great schnozzes!)

How and what do I feed my newts?

Written by scottology on August 3, 2010 – 5:41 pm -

We recently got two fire bellied newts and the people at the pet shop told us that we could feed them blood worms. I read on different threads that we should thaw and drain the worms before putting them in a small dish for the little fellas. But it has been two days and they have not been eating. I have not left the dish in for longer than an hour as the threads said not to. Please help.
