I’m not sure whether to be amazed, or terrified… I’ll do both.

its not an insect, its actually classed as an animal, insects have 6 legs
By cripplewoox on Nov 16, 2009 | Reply
its a very ancient creature,a true survivor

well its an arthropod (an invertebrate having jointed limbs and a segmented body with an exoskeleton made of chitin)
By cripplewoox on Nov 16, 2009 | Reply
yes that is correct, but also they have a certain degree of intelligence that puts them in the realm of ‘animal’,i think they are not comparable to any other creature on this earth, scorpions and suchlike are nearly equal but the centipede is almost alien in its stark sinister complexity

Because it’s 13 inches long, probably HEAVIER than the tiny bat, and has a very strong grip?

Actually, insects are grouped under the animal kingdom. Along with all other arthropods, mollusks, annelids, chordates, and several other groups I don’t remember.
