How long do chameleons take to change colour?

Written by scottology on December 18, 2009 – 6:13 pm -

I was watching a television programme today about chameleons. We all know that chameleons can change colour based upon there surroundings for camouflage and to communicate with other chameleons but the programme did answer my question.

Cartoons would have us believe that chameleons can change colour instantly, but sure it must take longer than that.

Can anyone tell me?
