How long do Japanese Firebelly Newts usually live?

Written by scottology on November 9, 2009 – 4:08 pm -

I got my newt 17 years ago, and he is still going strong. I had three newts before him, and they all died within a year. What is the common age for newts to live until? Thanks. He is an amphibian, so I didn’t want to put this under the reptiles section.
