(I Almost Get Bit) Handling My Chilean Rose Hair Tarantula
Written by scottology on June 23, 2010 – 9:13 pm -I was handling of my Chilean rose hair tarantula and when i put her on my jeans, i startled her and she got in her defensive position but luckily didn’t bite me. Watch her front legs stand up as she exposes her fangs. My Tarantula ‘Chilean Rose’ Shedding Her Skin 2FPS Slideshow
Written by scottology on June 3, 2010 – 9:12 pm -This is my tarantula, a chilean Rose, she is 13 years old. In this video you will witness her shedding skin. 62 Pictures were taken with a Nikon D50 using a tripod. If you want to learn how to do this sort of thing, then continue reading: The program ‘advanced image resizer’ was used to change the size of the pictures in bulk (roughly from a resolution of 3000×2400 to 360×240 approx. 10% of the original quality), A niffty little freeware program called ‘monkeyjam’ was used to import the pictures, once imported they become animated not unlike a slide show (you can set FPS). Click on ‘export exposure sheet as an avi movie’, name the file, set image size to 320×240, leave the video compression set to none and adjust the audio compression to Microsoft ADPCM then click on ’save the movie’. It’s really that easy and you may have learn’t something new from this. Really It’s just a bit of fun, for some educational, enjoy!

Chilean Rose Tarantula , requested video…
Written by scottology on May 5, 2010 – 9:10 pm -This is a requested video of my female Chilean Rose tarantula ” Creeper “. I’m not sure how old she is but she is under 5 and apparently they live for an estimated 20 odd years or more. I always used to collect house and garden spiders when I was a kid so I knew I would always have one of these. They are awesome pets , require cleaning around once a year since they don’t like there webbing wrecked. And only cost 15 pence fortnightly for a live locust. If you have any questions or comments just post , I will be happy to respond.
