Their parrot-like zygodactylous feet, used for grasping branches, independant stereoscopic eyes, long rapidly extendable tongues, a prehensile (grasping) tail, amazing crests and horns on their uniquely shaped heads and the very amazing ability to change to any colours of the rainbow. Amphibians (class Amphibia), such as frogs, toads, salamanders, newts, and gymnophiona, are cold-blooded animals that metamorphose from a juvenile, water-breathing form to an adult, air-breathing form. Typically, amphibians have four limbs, with the only exception being the worm like gymnophiona. Unlike other land animals, amphibians breed and lay their eggs in water, just as their fish ancestors did, where they grow and develop under water. Amphibians are superficially similar to reptiles and in tropical parts of the world they can come in a vibrant array of exotic colours and markings, which make these perfect for displays. An exciting addition to our amphibian section is amphibious fish, which have the ability to leave water and move over land for extended periods of time.
