Chameleons

Chameleons are one of the most distinctive and highly specialised type of lizards that can be found in the exotic pet trade today. Chameleons are easily distinguishable from the many other varieties of lizard from around the world with the below features making them some of the most popular type of pet lizard available. Their parrot-like zygodactylous feet, used for grasping branches, independant stereoscopic eyes, long rapidly extendable tongues, a prehensile (grasping) tail, amazing crests and horns on their uniquely shaped heads and the very amazing ability to change to any colours of the rainbow. All these adaptations make them excellent hunters and has allowed the evolutions of more than 160 different chameleon species.
